The 2nd edition of the Educational Career Fair EDU OFFSHORE WIND 2024 is behind us!
This year’s event was held under the slogan “WE SPREAD OUR PASSION FOR GREEN ENERGY!.”
Over the two days, high school students, university students, and industry guests met with 120 exhibitors at the AMBEREXPO hall in Gdańsk. EDU OFFSHORE WIND 2024 featured presentations, discussion panels, debates, workshops, and demonstrations—filling all three exhibition halls with energy.
More than 10,000 attendees, including students, industry representatives, and guests from Poland and abroad, joined the event. Among the exhibitors were representatives from industry organizations, business support institutions, and local government entities.
A team of 105 trained volunteers guided students through designated paths, covering all the booths and attractions. Attendees also had the chance to listen to brief, dynamic presentations on the Youth Stage. Live coverage from the hall and booths was hosted by sports journalist Sergiusz Ryczel.
Students had the opportunity to speak directly with participating companies about internships and job opportunities. A dedicated JOB TRUCK zone was prepared, featuring a job board with listings for internships, apprenticeships, and employment.
Pomeranian Offshore Platform Conference
Many participants also attended the parallel conference organized by the Pomeranian Offshore Platform, where over 30 signatories joined the agreement for the Pomeranian Partnership for Skills under the EU Pact for Skills. The goal of the agreement is to strengthen educational and workforce resources to support the renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind, as key to achieving climate neutrality.
Exhibits
The hall’s exhibits drew significant attention—numerous simulators and VR goggles allowed visitors to experience climbing a turbine, while scale models, including LEGO-built ones, a measurement buoy, a monopile model, as well as electric and hydrogen-powered cars, like the hydrogen Toyota, attracted interest. The organizers also offered first aid demonstrations, and each booth featured interactive attractions.
Impressions from Exhibitors and Students
Exhibitors were impressed with the scale, organization, and creativity of the fair. Despite the large number of visitors, mostly young people, they noted that students were genuinely interested in the exhibits and the information the exhibitors provided. Many already showed a budding passion for green energy. Students expressed surprise at the attractiveness and interactivity of the event, emphasizing that it was impossible to get bored. Many were excited to discover that offshore wind and green energy can be both a source of income and a passion.
The organizers thank all Patrons, Partners, Sponsors, and Exhibitors for contributing to the success of the 2nd edition of the EDU OFFSHORE WIND Career Fair.
