On 26th of September in Gdynia, Rumia Invest Park and Crist SA signed a letter of intent expressing their willingness to cooperate within the Pomeranian Offshore Wind Energy Competence Center, with the aim of strengthening the labor market essential for the effective development of wind energy in the Baltic Sea.
The partnership aims to support workforce development and vocational education in key sectors: offshore wind energy and the shipbuilding industry.
Given the growing importance of the offshore wind energy sector and the constant, significant role of the shipbuilding market in the Pomeranian region, the partners see the development of technical education as a key element for the growth of both industries. By collaborating with local technical and vocational schools, CRIST and Rumia Invest Park intend to support the development of career pathways in the offshore wind and shipbuilding sectors. One of the key objectives of the partnership will be the development of educational programs and the creation of training opportunities for future and current employees in these industries.
“This is another step towards preparing the Pomeranian region for the successful implementation of projects related to offshore wind energy and shipbuilding. By working together with CRIST SA, we aim to create a solid foundation for the future of both sectors in our region,” said Agnieszka Rodak, CEO of Rumia Invest Park.
As one of the leading shipyards in Europe, CRIST SA is already undertaking projects to build specialized vessels and offshore structures that will be used in the construction and operation of offshore wind farms. The collaboration with Rumia Invest Park aims to further leverage the potential of the local labor market and to develop technical skills that will be crucial for the shipyard’s future investments in the offshore wind sector.
Under the signed agreement, the parties have committed to implementing educational projects that support the development of professional qualifications, including the organization of training courses for future employees and promoting employment opportunities in both sectors.
The agreement between Rumia Invest Park and CRIST SA represents a significant step in building a strong competence base for the offshore wind and shipbuilding sectors in Poland, while also strengthening the Pomeranian region's position as a key hub for the development of modern renewable energy.
